Our bodies are our temples. We live in the skin we're in from birth to death. Our society has not only turned our bodies into machines, it has defined “prototypes” of beauty that are not only unattainable, but unrealistic for us to EVER live up to, so before we even hit puberty we are set up for failure and have had our bodies turn against us. Not only are we constantly told we are not enough, not pretty enough, not skinny enough, not curvy enough, that we have the wrong hair texture, eye color ect we have a window of about 10 years and then we are considered "old" and made felt our lives are ticking time bombs, a rush to not only look perfect and act a certain way but to find the perfect mate, get married have kids, settle down and then what? Be a perfect wife or mom and THEN you enter the world of mom shaming, you're either damned for not wanting children or you're damned for the actions that you choose to take in parenting your child. It’s time to END these ludacris expectations, it’s no wonder we are so alienated from ourselves and each other and constantly filled with anxiety… It’s time for healing, self love does not equal vanity, you are allowed to love yourself, cherish yourself, respect yourself, set boundaries for yourself, you are allowed to be beautiful just the way you are, you don’t have to change for anyone or anything. Start giving yourself permission to live your life, on your terms, TODAY.
